Biography
Lubomir Janecka was born on February 7, 1948 in Zlin,
Czech Republic. He grew up in the Moravian region, and
after completing his art degree, he lived in Prague until
1984. He was forced into exile after years of harassment
and discrimination by the Communist Party. In 1985, he
moved with his wife and three small children to the United
States, settling in Pennsylvania where he still resides.

Education
Lubomir Janecka completed a graduate degree in Sculpture at The Academy of
Fine Arts (Akademie Vytvarnych Umeni - AVU) in Prague, earning the title of
Academic Sculptor in 1975. AVU is the oldest and most prestigious academic art
institution in the Czech Republic.
